Abstract:
This multilayer ceramic substrate has a multilayer structure which is composed of a surface layer part that is positioned in the surface and an inner layer part that is positioned inside the surface layer part, and wherein a surface layer electrode is disposed on the surface of the surface layer part. This multilayer ceramic substrate is characterized in that: the surface layer part comprises a first layer that is adjacent to the inner layer part; the inner layer part comprises a second layer that is adjacent to the first layer; the thermal expansion coefficient of the first layer is lower than the thermal expansion coefficient of the second layer; respective constituent materials of the first layer and the second layer include alumina, at least one metal oxide selected from the group consisting of CuO and Ag2O, and glass containing from 40% by weight to 65% by weight (inclusive) of MO (wherein MO is composed of at least one substance selected from the group consisting of CaO, MgO, SrO and BaO),; the content of the alumina relative to the total weight of the glass and the alumina is from 35% by weight to 60% by weight (inclusive); and the content of the metal oxide relative to the total weight of the glass and the alumina is from 1% by weight to 10% by weight (inclusive).
