Abstract:
(EN) A solid state combinatorial synthesis of particulate diamond ranging in size from the macroscopic down to the nanoscale, which entails: a) forming a solution having a source of reactant atoms, a tetrahedranoidal compound reactant, and a solvent vehicle; b) forming liquid droplets of the solution; c) evaporating the solvent vehicle from the liquid droplets of the solution to form particles containing a homogenous solid mixture of the reactants; and d) exposing the particles of the homogeneous solid mixture to a high energy discharge thereby forming diamond particles.
(FR) L'invention concerne une synthèse combinatoire à l'état solide de diamant particulaire se situant dans la plage allant de l'échelle macroscopique à l'échelle nanométrique, comprenant les étapes suivantes : a) former une solution ayant une source d'atomes réactifs, un composé tétraédrique réactif et un véhicule de solvant ; b) former des gouttelettes de liquide de la solution ; c) évaporer le véhicule de solvant des gouttelettes liquides de la solution pour former des particules contenant un mélange solide homogène des réactifs ; et d) exposer les particules du mélange solide homogène à une décharge d'énergie élevée, pour ainsi former des particules de diamant.
