Abstract:
(EN) Zero-Rare Earth Metal (ZREM) and Zero-platinum group metals (ZPGM) compositions of varied binary spinel oxides are disclosed as oxygen storage material (OSM) to be used within TWC systems. The ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems comprise binary non-Cu spinel oxides of Co-Fe, Fe-Mn, Co-Mn, or Mn-Fe such as Co0.2Fe2.8O4, FeMn2O4, CoMn2O4, and Mn0.5Fe2.5O4. The oxygen storage capacity (OSC) property associated with the non-Cu ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems is determined employing isothermal OSC oscillating condition testing. Further, the OSC test results compare the OSC properties of a ZREM-ZPGM reference OSM system including a Cu-Mn binary spinel oxide and PGM reference catalysts including Ce-based OSMs. The non-Cu spinel oxides ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems exhibit significantly improved OSC properties compared to Ce-based OSM PGM reference systems.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des compositions de métal sans terre rare (ZREM) et de métaux sans groupe du platine (ZPGM) de différents oxydes de spinelle binaires en tant que matériau de stockage d'oxygène (OSM) pour utilisation dans des systèmes TWC. Les systèmes OSM ZREM-ZPGM comprennent des oxydes de spinelles binaires sans Cu de Co-Fe, Fe-Mn, Co-Mn ou Mn-Fe tels que Co0.2Fe2.8O4, FeMn2O4, CoMn2O4 et Mn0.5Fe2.5O4. La propriété de capacité de stockage d'oxygène (OSC) associée aux systèmes OSM ZREM-ZPGM sans Cu est déterminée en utilisant un test de condition d'oscillation OSC isotherme. En outre, les résultats d’essai OSC comparent les propriétés OSC d'un système OSM de référence ZREM-ZPGM comprenant un oxyde de spinelle binaire Cu-Mn et des catalyseurs de référence PGM comprenant des OSM à base de Ce.
