The application relates to the field of network technology, and specifically, to an instant messaging method and device. The method comprises: upon receiving an action display command, acquiring an indicator of a target action data set indicated by the action display command; determining, according to the action display command, and from users using an instant messaging application, a target user; acquiring an identifier of a target virtual character corresponding to the target user; transmitting to a server an action display request carrying the identifier of the target virtual character and the identifier of the target action data set; receiving the target action data set and the target virtual character transmitted by the server; and displaying the target virtual character, wherein in a display process, the target virtual character performs an action on the basis of the target action data set.

L'invention concerne le domaine de la technologie de réseau, et en particulier un procédé et un dispositif de messagerie instantanée.
