(EN) A method is disclosed for delivering energy to tissue through an expanded ablation electrode and for controlling the energy delivered to control lesion depth and width such that wide and shallow lesions can be formed in target tissue in an anatomic structure of a patient during a medical procedure. A system is also disclosed comprising a catheter (104), an expandable ablation electrode (124), a generator and a controller.
