Title: IMAGE PROCESSING DEVICE, AND IMAGE PROCESSING METHOD
Abstract:
The present technology relates to an image processing device and an image processing method with which it is possible to improve an S/N ratio and compression efficiency. Filtering is applied to a first image obtained by adding a predictive coding residual and a predictive image together, and a second image used in predicting the predictive image is generated. In filtering, pixels that constitute a predictive tap, which is used in predictive computation for finding the pixel values of corresponding pixels of the second image that correspond to pixels to be processed of the first image, is selected from the first image, the pixels to be processed are classified into one of a plurality of classes, and the pixel values of the corresponding pixels are found by performing predictive computation using tap coefficients of the classes of the pixels to be processed among tap coefficients used in predictive computation, for each plurality of classes, found by learning, and the predictive tap of the pixels to be processed. The present technology may be applied, for example, to an image encoding device and decoding device.
