A liquid crystal display apparatus and a driving method therefor. The apparatus comprises: a liquid crystal display panel (10), comprising M rows × N columns of sub-pixel units (101); a source driving module (20) for generating data signal voltages, the source driving module (20) comprising N/2 output channels; a data control module (30), comprising a plurality of first switches (31) and a plurality of second switches (32), wherein the plurality of first switches (31) correspondingly connect the N/2 output channels to N/2 columns of sub-pixel units (101) therein on a one-to-one basis, and the plurality of second switches (32) correspondingly connect the N/2 output channels to the remaining N/2 columns of sub-pixel units (101); and a switch driving module (40) respectively connected to the first switch (31) and the second switch (32), wherein during the starting of one row of sub-pixel units (101), the switch driving module (40) controls a switching operation between the first switch (31) and the second switch (32), and provides data signal voltages output by the output channels to corresponding sub-pixel units (101) in a time division manner, where M and N are both positive integers.
