Abstract:
An angle detection device is obtained that has: an angle sensor that outputs first and second sine wave signals having phases that differ from each other by 90 degrees, in accordance with the rotation of a detection target; an angle calculation unit that calculates an angle signal corresponding to the rotation angle of the detection target, on the basis of the first and second sine wave signals; and an angle sensor fault determination unit that determines angle sensor faults, on the basis of the first and second sine wave signals. The angle sensor fault determination unit comprises: an amplitude signal calculation unit that calculates amplitude signals on the basis of the root sum square of the first and second sine wave signals; a first angle signal calculation unit that calculates a first angle signal on the basis of the first sine wave signal and the amplitude signal; a second angle signal calculation unit that calculates a second angle signal on the basis of the second sine wave signal and the amplitude signal; and a fault determination unit that determines angle sensor faults on the basis of the error between the first and second angle signals.
