This technology relates to a data processing device, a data processing method, and a program which enable improvement in compression efficiency. A data processing device comprises a first compression unit that performs compression by compressive sensing, and a second compression unit that compresses an observation coefficient from the first compression unit by a compression method different from that of the first compression unit. The first compression unit performs random sampling using a sampling matrix, and the sampling matrix is optimized for the compression of the second compression unit. The sampling matrix is a matrix designed such that a difference value between observation coefficients becomes smaller. This technology is applicable to a recording and reproduction device which captures, compresses, records, and reproduces image data.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de traitement de données, un procédé de traitement de données et un programme qui permet d’améliorer l’efficacité de compression. Un dispositif de traitement de données comprend une première unité de compression, qui réalise une compression par détection compressive, et une seconde unité de compression qui compresse un coefficient d’observation provenant de la première unité de compression par un procédé de compression différent de celui de la première unité de compression.
