The present invention relates to a manufacturing method of 1,2-dichlorohexafluorocyclopentene. The manufacturing method of 1,2-dichlorohexafluorocyclopentene comprises the following reaction steps: (1) using cyclopentadiene as a starting material in a liquid-phase reaction with chlorine, and obtaining tetrachlorocyclopentane; and (2) using tetrachlorocyclopentane as a starting material in a gas-phase chlorination and fluorination reaction with hydrogen fluoride and chlorine gas and in the presence of a fluorination catalyst to obtain 1,2-dichlorohexafluorocyclopentene, wherein the fluorination catalyst is a chromium-based catalyst. The technical solution provided in the invention uses an easily acquired raw material. A highly stable fluorination catalyst with high catalytic activity is also used, therefore making the solution applicable in large scale production of 1,2-dichlorohexafluorocyclopentene.
