Abstract

An antenna apparatus for mounting on a non-conductive chassis with a printed circuit board includes a folded metal antenna element having an integral folded metal balun, wherein the balun is connected to the folded metal antenna, and metal end portions on the folded metal balun connect with conductive pads on a printed circuit board. The pads directly connect to RF circuitry on the printed circuit board such that an electrical connection between the metal end portions of the folded metal balun and the RF circuitry is made without an RF cable or separate connector.

Cette invention concerne un appareil d'antenne destiné à être monté sur un châssis non conducteur avec une carte de circuit imprimé, comprenant un élément d'antenne métallique repliée possédant un transformateur symétrique métallique replié intégré, le transformateur symétrique étant connecté à l'antenne métallique repliée, et des parties d'extrémité métalliques sur le transformateur symétrique métallique replié étant connectées à des plots conducteurs sur une carte de circuit imprimé. Les plots sont directement connectés à des circuits RF sur la carte de circuit imprimé de telle sorte qu'une connexion électrique entre les parties d'extrémité métalliques du transformateur symétrique métallique replié et les circuits RF est effectuée sans câble RF ni connecteur distinct.
