Provided is a technique for improving the reliability of a vehicle-mounted optical device by eliminating condensation that has formed on the vehicle-interior side of glass. This vehicle-mounted optical device is characterized in being provided with: an image capturing unit which acquires an image by capturing an image of the outside of a vehicle, through glass of the vehicle in which the image capturing unit is mounted; a condensation detecting unit which detects condensation on the glass by determining whether an image in a predetermined partial region of the captured image is in a predetermined condition; and a condensation eliminating device control processing unit which, if the condensation detecting unit has detected condensation, causes a condensation eliminating device that eliminates condensation on the glass to operate.

L'invention concerne une technique pour améliorer la fiabilité d'un dispositif optique embarqué dans un véhicule en éliminant la condensation qui s'est formée sur le côté intérieur du véhicule de la vitre. Ce dispositif optique embarqué dans un véhicule est caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte : une unité de capture d'image qui acquiert une image par capture d'une image de l'extérieur d'un véhicule, à travers la vitre du véhicule dans lequel l'unité de capture d'image est montée ; une unité de détection de condensation qui détecte la condensation sur la vitre en déterminant si une image dans une région partielle prédéterminée de l'image capturée est ou non dans un état prédéterminé ; et une unité de traitement de commande de dispositif d'élimination de condensation qui, si l'unité de détection de condensation a détecté de la condensation, amène un dispositif d'élimination de condensation qui élimine la condensation sur la vitre à fonctionner.
