(EN) Monitoring output power levels of a carrier-effect based switching cell allows phase errors resulting from driving a PIN or PN junction of the switching cell to be dynamically compensated for. The compensation may also allow for compensating of phase errors resulting from the phase imbalance of input couplers as well as phase errors from the waveguide due to fabrication variations. By dynamically compensating for phase errors caused by the driving of the PIN or PN junction, the extinction ratio of the carrier-effect based switching cell can be increased.
(FR) La surveillance des niveaux de puissance de sortie d'une cellule de commutation par effet de porteurs permet de compenser dynamiquement des erreurs de phase résultant de la commande d'une jonction PIN ou PN de la cellule de commutation. La compensation peut également permettre de compenser les erreurs de phase résultant du déséquilibre de phase de coupleurs d'entrée ainsi que des erreurs de phase provenant du guide d'ondes, dues à des variations de fabrication. La compensation dynamique des erreurs de phase provoquées par la commande de la jonction PIN ou PN permet d'augmenter le taux d'extinction de la cellule de commutation par effet de porteurs.
