Abstract:
(EN) The present invention provides methods for treating patients suffering from hyperlipidemia, wherein the patient is non-responsive to, inadequately controlled by, or intolerant to treatment with a standard lipid modifying therapy. The methods of the invention provide for lowering at least one lipid parameter in the patient by administering a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof that specifically binds to angiopoietin-like protein 8 (ANGPTL8) in combination with a therapeutically effective amount of an antibody that specifically binds to angiopoietin-like protein 3 (ANGPTL3). The combination of an anti-ANGPTL8 antibody with an anti-ANGPTL3 antibody is useful in treating diseases such as hypercholesterolemia, including familial hypercholesterolemia (FH), both heFH and hoFH, as well as hyperlipidemia, hyperlipoproteinemia and dyslipidemia, including hypertriglyceridemia, chylomicronemia, and to prevent or treat diseases or disorders, for which abnormal lipid metabolism is a risk factor, such as cardiovascular diseases.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés de traitement de patients souffrant d'hyperlipidémie, le patient étant insensible ou intolérant à un traitement, ou l'hyperlipidémie du patient étant insuffisamment régulée par un traitement comprenant une thérapie classique de modification des lipides. Les méthodes de l'invention permettent d'abaisser au moins un paramètre lipidique chez le patient par administration d'une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'un anticorps ou d'un fragment de liaison à son antigène qui se lie spécifiquement à la protéine analogue à l'angiopoïétine 8 (ANGPTL8) en combinaison avec une quantité thérapeutiquement efficace d'un anticorps qui se lie spécifiquement à la protéine analogue à l'angiopoïétine 3 (ANGPTL3). La combinaison d'un anticorps anti-ANGPTL8 et d'un anticorps anti-ANGPTL3 est utile dans le traitement de maladies telles que l'hypercholestérolémie, y compris l'hypercholestérolémie familiale (HF), l'hypercholestérolémie familiale hétérozygote (heFH) et l'hypercholestérolémie familiale homozygote (hoFH), ainsi que l'hyperlipidémie, l'hyperlipoprotéinémie et la dyslipidémie, y compris l'hypertriglycéridémie, la chylomicronémie, et pour prévenir ou traiter des maladies ou des troubles, pour lesquels un métabolisme lipidique anormal est un facteur de risque, tels que des maladies cardiovasculaires.
