(EN)Methods are provided for the simple, fast, effective and safe directed differentiation of embryonic stem cells into the mature beta cells of enriched beta clusters, wherein the beta cells rapidly and reliably secrete insulin in response to glucose levels. The cells are useful transplant therapeutics for diabetic individuals. These cells can also be used for drug screening purposes to identify factors/chemicals capable of increasing beta cell functions, proliferation, survival, and resistance to immune assault.
(FR)La présente invention décrit des procédés destinés à la différenciation simple, rapide, efficace et dirigés sans danger de cellules souches embryonnaires en cellules bêta matures d'amas bêta enrichis, les cellules bêta sécrétant rapidement et de manière fiable de l'insuline en réponse aux niveaux de glycémie. Les cellules sont des agents thérapeutiques de transplantation utiles pour les personnes diabétiques. Ces cellules peuvent également être utilisées à des fins de criblage de médicament pour identifier des facteurs/des agents chimiques susceptibles d'augmenter les fonctions, la prolifération, la survie, et la résistance des cellules bêta aux attaques immunitaires.
