Abstract:
(EN) A current collector for use in an electrochemical cell is provided. The current collector comprises: a reticulated core comprising a polymer and having continuous porosity; a first reticulated surface; a second reticulated surface opposite said first reticulated surface; and a thin metal film disposed on at least one of said first and second reticulated surfaces, wherein said current collector has continuous porosity. A high temperature resistant polymer is preferred for the reticulated core where the current collector may be exposed to high temperatures during production or use. The continuous porosity of the reticulated core 12 and the current collector allows for passage therethrough of electrolyte and ions, as necessary for operation of an electrochemical device that includes the current collector. Various methods for making the current collector are also provided, including an exemplary embodiment in which a reticulated core comprising a polymer is provided and a thin metal film is deposited on at least one of the first or second reticulated surface of the reticulated core to form the current collector. An electrode assembly which includes the current collector, as well as an electrochemical cell which includes at least one current collector, are also provided.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un collecteur de courant pour utilisation dans une cellule électrochimique. Le collecteur de courant comprend : un noyau réticulé comprenant un polymère et ayant une porosité continue ; une première surface réticulée ; une deuxième surface réticulée opposée à ladite première surface réticulée ; et un film de métal disposé sur au moins l’une desdites première et deuxième surfaces réticulées, ledit collecteur de courant ayant une porosité continue. Un polymère résistant à haute température est préféré pour le noyau réticulé lorsque le collecteur de courant peut être exposé à des températures élevées pendant la production ou l’utilisation. La porosité continue du noyau réticulé 12 et du collecteur de courant permet le passage à travers ceux-ci d'électrolyte et d'ions, comme requis pour le fonctionnement d'un dispositif électrochimique qui comprend le collecteur de courant. L’invention concerne en outre différents procédés de fabrication du collecteur de courant, comprenant un mode de réalisation exemplaire dans lequel un noyau réticulé comprenant un polymère est fourni et un film métallique mince est déposé sur au moins l'une de la première ou la deuxième surface réticulée du noyau réticulé pour former le collecteur de courant. L'invention concerne en outre un ensemble d'électrodes qui comprend le collecteur de courant, ainsi qu'une cellule électrochimique qui comprend au moins un collecteur de courant.
