(EN) The invention relates to methods and compositions for use in the treatment or prophylaxis of intervertebral disc herniation in a mammal. The composition according to the invention comprises an inhibitor of T-cell activation, said inhibitor being capable of inhibiting CD28-mediated co-stimulation of T-cells. The said inhibitor of T-cell activation is preferably a protein comprising either an exact or a modified version of the extracellular domain of CTLA-4, such as abatacept, belatacept, XPro9523 and/or ASP2408.
(FR) L'invention concerne des méthodes et des compositions destinées à être utilisées dans le traitement ou la prophylaxie de l'hernie du disque intervertébral chez un mammifère. La composition de l'invention comprend un inhibiteur de l'activation des cellules T, ledit inhibiteur étant capable d'inhiber la co-stimulation des cellules T médiée par le CD28. Ledit inhibiteur de l'activation des cellules T est de préférence une protéine comprenant une version exacte ou modifiée du domaine extracellulaire de CTLA-4, telle que l'abatacept, le bélatacept, le XPro9523 et/ou l'ASP2408.
