Abstract:
An image acquisition apparatus (2) is provided with a bottom surface position detection device (1), and obtains an image of a cell placed in a recessed part of a container. The bottom surface position detection device (1) comprises a holding unit (10), a light emitting unit (20), a detection unit (30), and a control unit (71). The holding unit (10) horizontally holds a container (9). The light emitting unit (20) emits light to the bottom of the container (9). The detection unit (30) detects first reflected light reflected from a first bottom surface, which is the bottom surface of the container (9), and second reflected light reflected from a second bottom surface, which is the bottom surface of the recessed part. The control unit (71) calculates the position of the second bottom surface on the basis of a first peak position of the first reflected light detected by the detection unit and a second peak position of the second reflected light detected by the detection unit. This makes it possible to detect the position of the bottom surface of the recessed part of the container even when the bottom of the container varies in thickness or the bottom surface is curved.
