Abstract:
The invention relates to a drive, having an electric motor supplied with power by a converter, and a method for operating a drive, wherein the converter comprises an inverter having a DC voltage-side connection and an AC voltage-side connection, wherein a series circuit is supplied with power from the DC voltage-side connection, i.e. intermediate circuit voltage connection, and the motor is supplied with power from the AC voltage-side connection, wherein the series circuit has a resistor and a controllable semiconductor switch, in particular for controlling the current flowing through the series circuit, wherein the voltage available at the DC voltage-side connection of the inverter, in particular intermediate circuit voltage, is detected, wherein a comparison means generates an output signal that controls the controllable semiconductor switch, wherein the output signal is also supplied to a capacity determining means and the capacity determining means determines a signal value therefrom, in particular a value that can be used as a gauge for the temperature of the resistor. In particular, wherein the signal value is supplied to a second comparison means, which supplies a deactivation signal to the inverter when a threshold value is exceeded, which brings about an opening of each switch of the inverter that is electrically connected to the AC voltage-side connection.
