Provided is a joint structure comprising a first material (1), a second material (2) that can be welded to the first material, and a third material (3), at least a portion of which is interposed between the first material and the second material, and which has a through-hole portion in the interposed section and is made of a material that is difficult to weld to the first material and the second material respectively, wherein the first material and the second material are welded via the through-hole portion. A protruding portion (14) inserted into the through-hole portion is provided to the first material and/or the second material. A first gap (4) is provided between the protruding portion and the inner peripheral face of the through-hole portion. In a region corresponding to the protruding portion, a second gap (5) corresponding to the plate thickness of the first material at the region is provided between the first material and the second material. The first material and the second material are welded by being irradiated with a laser beam from the first material side when the size of the second gap is at least 0.1 mm but does not exceed 40% of the plate thickness of the first material at the region.
