Title: MANUFACTURING METHODS FOR GLASS PANEL UNITS AND FURNITURE COMPRISING SAME
Abstract:
The purpose of the invention is to manufacture a glass panel unit having a reduced pressure internal space and furniture comprising same by a method for which traces of an evacuation pipe do not easily remain, and to make it possible to reuse the evacuation pipe that is used for evacuation operation. A manufacturing method for glass panel units comprises a joining step, an evacuating step, and a sealing step. In the joining step, a first glass panel (1) and a second glass panel (2) are joined via a sealing material (41), thereby forming an internal space (501). In the evacuating step, air is evacuated from the internal space (501) through an evacuation pipe (7) that is removably connected to an evacuation hole (5). The evacuation pipe (7) comprises an O-ring (72), and the evacuation hole (5) and evacuation pipe (7) are connected air-tight with the O-ring (72) therebetween.
