Abstract:
(EN) The purpose of the present invention is, in an optical modulator equipped with a FPC for electrically connecting the optical modulator to an external circuit board, to reduce the variations in the high-frequency characteristics of the signal path from the circuit board to the optical modulator effectively at low cost. This optical modulator (100) includes a flexible printed circuit (106) which electrically connects the optical modulator to a circuit board. The flexible printed circuit has a substantially rectangular shape. A pad (210, etc.) is formed on the flexible printed circuit along one side (200) of the substantially rectangular shape so as to be electrically connected to the circuit board. In order to relieve the mechanical stress applied onto the side or the edge of the flexible printed circuit and/or to prevent propagation of distortion generated at the side or the edge, the flexible printed circuit has: a cut or a notch (250, etc.) formed from a part of at least one side toward the inside of the flexible printed circuit; and/or a curved section (1010, etc.) connecting at least two adjacent sides.
(FR) L'objectif de la présente invention est, dans un modulateur optique équipé d'un FPC pour connecter électriquement le modulateur optique à une carte de circuit externe, de réduire efficacement les variations des caractéristiques à haute fréquence du trajet de signal de la carte de circuit au modulateur optique à un coût faible. Ce modulateur optique (100) comprend un circuit imprimé flexible (106) qui connecte électriquement le modulateur optique à une carte de circuit imprimé. Le circuit imprimé flexible a une forme sensiblement rectangulaire. Une plage (210, etc.) est formée sur le circuit imprimé flexible le long d'un côté (200) de la forme sensiblement rectangulaire de façon à être électriquement connectée à la carte de circuit. Afin de soulager la contrainte mécanique appliquée sur le côté ou le bord du circuit imprimé flexible et/ou empêcher la propagation d'une déformation générée au niveau du côté ou du bord, le circuit imprimé flexible comporte : une découpe ou une encoche (250, etc.) formée d'une partie d'au moins un côté vers l'intérieur du circuit imprimé flexible; et/ou une section incurvée (1010, etc.) reliant au moins deux côtés adjacents.
(JA) 外部の回路基板との電気的接続を行うFPCを備えた光変調器において、当該回路基板から光変調器に至る信号経路の高周波特性のばらつきを、効果的且つ安価に低減すること。 回路基板との間の電気的接続を行うフレキシブル配線板(106)を備えた光変調器(100)である。前記フレキシブル配線板は略四辺形を為し、前記フレキシブル配線板には、前記略四辺形の一の辺(200)に沿って前記回路基板と電気的に接続されるパッド(210等)が形成されている。また、前記フレキシブル配線板は、当該フレキシブル配線板の辺又は端部に加わる機械的応力を開放し及び又は当該辺又は端部に発生した歪の伝搬を防止するための、少なくとも一つの辺の一部から前記フレキシブル配線板の内部方向に向かって設けられた切り込み又は切り欠き(250等)を有し、及び又は少なくとも2つの隣接する辺をつなぐ曲線部(1010等)が設けられている。
