A Nanofiltration-DiaNanofiltration (NF-DiaNF) system and method for extracting divalent ions from saline water (e.g., seawater) to produce solutions rich in divalent ions (in particular Mg2+, Ca2+ and SO42-), while minimizing the concentrations of undesirable species (e.g., C1-, Br-, B and Na+). The solutions may be added to water (e.g., desalinated, soft, drinking or irrigation water) to enrich the water with divalent ions, thereby improving its quality.

La présente invention concerne un nouveau système et un nouveau procédé de nanofiltration-diananofiltration (NF-DiaNF) pour extraire des ions divalents d’eaux salées (par ex. eau de mer) pour produire des solutions riches en ions divalents (en particulier en Mg2+, Ca2+ et SO42-), tout en réduisant à un minimum les concentrations d’espèces indésirables (par ex. C1-, Br-, B et Na+). Lesdites solutions peuvent être ajoutées à de l’eau (par ex. de l’eau dessalée, douce, potable ou d’irrigation) pour enrichir cette eau en ions divalents, ce qui en améliore la qualité.
