Abstract:
(EN) A biomechanical analysis and validation system and method suitable for clinical diagnosis while providing accurate measurements of the angles of lower body segments and joints (i.e. without undue drift error and gravity vector estimation error). The system and method use inertial sensors configured to be positioned at the pelvis, the right and left thigh, the right and left shank and the right and left foot, and, optionally plantar pressure sensors to be positioned under the right and left foot of a subject. Biomechanical information of the subject is provided by expressing the orientation of the inertial sensors with respect to the orientation of the lower body segments of the subject.
(FR) La présente invention décrit un système et un procédé d’analyse et de validation biomécanique convenant au diagnostic clinique tout en fournissant des mesures précises des angles de segments et d'articulations des membres inférieurs (c’est-à-dire sans erreur de dérive excessive ni erreur d’estimation de vecteur de gravité). Le système et le procédé utilisent des détecteurs inertiels configurés pour être positionnés au niveau du pelvis, de la cuisse droite et gauche, du bassin droit et gauche et du pied droit et gauche, et, éventuellement des détecteurs de pression plantaire à positionner sous le pied droit et gauche d’un sujet. L’information biomécanique du sujet est prévue en exprimant l’orientation des détecteurs inertiels par rapport à l’orientation des segments du corps inférieur du sujet.
