Abstract:
(EN) Multimeric defensin proteins (MD) containing at least two defensin peptides joined by a spacer peptide that is resistant to endoproteinase cleavage are disclosed along with compositions comprising the MD proteins and transgenic or genetically edited plants or microorganisms that express the MD to inhibit growth of pathogenic fungi. Such MD proteins, compositions, plants, and microorganisms can provide for improved inhibition of fungal growth when compared to a protein containing only one of the defensin peptides found in the MD.
(FR) L'invention concerne des protéines de défensine multimères (MD) contenant au moins deux peptides de défensine joints par un peptide espaceur qui résiste au clivage par une endoprotéinase ; des compositions comprenant lesdites protéines MD et des plantes ou des micro-organismes transgéniques ou génétiquement modifiés qui expriment les MD pour inhiber la croissance de champignons pathogènes. Ces protéines MD, compositions, plantes et micro-organismes permettent une inhibition améliorée de la croissance fongique comparativement à une protéine ne contenant qu'un seul des peptides de défensine présents dans les MD.
