Title
(EN) POCKETED SPRING COMFORT LAYER AND METHOD OF MAKING SAME
(FR) COUCHE DE CONFORT À RESSORTS ENSACHÉS ET PROCÉDÉ DE FABRICATION DE CETTE DERNIÈRE
Abstract
(EN) A comfort layer (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140) for a bedding or seating product (10) has slow-acting pockets (44, 44a, 84, 84a) characterized by the individual springs (28) of the comfort layer (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140) being pocketed with either semi-impermeable or impermeable fabric. Each seam (30, 70) joining opposed plies (22, 23, 24, 25, 64, 65, 66, 67) of fabric around each of the coil springs (28) of the comfort layer (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140) may be segmented, allowing air to flow between the segments (26, 68), thereby increasing the luxury "feel" of the comfort layer (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140). The method of making the comfort layer (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140) includes compressing the springs (28) and creating pockets (44, 44a, 84, 84a) with a welding horn (32, 32a, 72, 72a) and an anvil (42, 42a, 74, 74a).
(FR) L'invention concerne une couche de confort (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140) pour un produit de literie ou d'assise (10), ladite couche comportant des poches à action lente (44, 44a, 84, 84a) caractérisées en ce que les ressorts individuels (28) de la couche de confort (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140) sont ensachés dans un tissu semi-imperméable ou imperméable. Chaque couture (30, 70) reliant des épaisseurs opposées (22, 23, 24, 25, 64, 65, 66, 67) de tissu autour de chaque ressort hélicoïdal (28) de la couche de confort (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140) peut être segmentée, ce qui permet ainsi à l'air de circuler entre les segments (26, 68), et augmente la "sensation" de luxe de la couche de confort (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140). Le procédé de fabrication de la couche de confort (16, 16a, 50, 56, 56a, 56b, 132, 140) comprend la compression des ressorts (28) et la création de poches (44, 44a, 84, 84a) avec une corne d'air (32, 32a, 72, 72a) et une enclume (42, 42a, 74, 74a).
