Title: METHOD FOR PUMPING A GAS IN AN AERODYNAMIC SEPARATOR USING AN IMPELLER, AERODYNAMIC SEPARATOR AND PUMPING UNIT OF AN AERODYNAMIC SEPARATOR
Abstract:
The group of inventions relates to: a method for pumping a gas in an aerodynamic separator using an impeller; an aerodynamic separator; and a pumping unit of an aerodynamic separator. According to the method, a stream of a gas or of a mixture of gases is generated by the rotation of an impeller, the stream is straightened and its speed is equalized by a straightening apparatus, whereupon the stream is fed into a separation chamber. The stream is directed to the separation chamber at the required angle by virtue of the rotation shaft of the impeller being mounted at an angle to the horizontal. The stream generated by the impeller is divided into an inner stream and an outer stream by an inner conical ring (5) of the straightening apparatus (4), said ring narrowing in the direction of flow of the stream and forming an inner circuit and an outer circuit of the straightening apparatus. The stream of a gas or of a mixture of gases is straightened in the outer circuit by being passed through profiled vanes (6) of the outer circuit of the straightening apparatus, and is slowed as a result of the increasing cross sectional area of the outer circuit. In the inner circuit, the stream is straightened by being passed through profiled vanes (6) of the inner circuit and is accelerated to a speed equal to that of the stream in the outer circuit by the decreasing cross sectional area of the inner conical ring (5) and by a conical fairing (7), which lies along the centreline of the straightening apparatus and is coaxial with the impeller. A pumping unit of an aerodynamic separator and an aerodynamic separator contain the above-mentioned inner conical ring (5), inner and outer profiled vanes (6) and a conical fairing (7). The group of inventions provides for reduced energy consumption, a simplified design of the units, and better quality separation of a granular mixture into fractions.
