Abstract:
In order to provide a method which makes it possible to precisely estimate the load acting on a tire with few sensors, and to provide a device utilizing such a method, provided is a load weight estimation device 10 that estimates the load acting on a tire and that comprises the following: an acceleration sensor 11; an acceleration waveform detection means 13 that detects the acceleration waveform in the radial direction of the tire on the basis of the output of the acceleration sensor 11; a differential acceleration waveform computation means 14 that determines the differential acceleration waveform by differentiating the acceleration waveform; a peak position detection means 15 that detects the position of the peak on the depression end side and the position of the peak on the kick-out end side, appearing in the differential acceleration waveform; a ground contact time ratio computation means 16 that calculates a ground contact time and a rotation time on the basis of these peak positions and computes a ground contact time ratio, which is the ratio between the calculated ground contact time and rotation time; and a load weight estimation means 19 that estimates the load acting on the tire on the basis of a K-W map 18M that shows the relationships among the computed ground contact time ratio, a ground contact time ratio stored in a storage means 18, and the load.
