Abstract:
This thickener powder for a lithium ion cell is a thickener powder used to increase the viscosity of an aqueous electrode slurry for a lithium ion cell, the thickener powder including a cellulose-based water-soluble polymer, and the content of a water-insoluble component in the thickener powder as calculated by condition 1 being 1.0% by mass or less. (Condition 1: the thickener powder is dissolved in water to obtain an aqueous solution of the thickener having a concentration of 1.3% by mass. The aqueous solution of the thickener is then filtered by a filter having an average pore diameter of 1 µm. The water-insoluble component remaining on the filter is then dried and the mass of the water-insoluble component is measured. The content of the water-insoluble component in the thickener powder is then calculated.)
