Title: SURFACE-COATED CUBIC BORON NITRIDE SINTERED TOOL
Abstract:
This surface-coated cubic boron nitride sintered tool has a hard coating layer made from an alternating A layer-B layer laminated structure formed on a cubic boron nitride (cBN) base surface. The particle size distribution of cBN particles in a cBN sintered body has a peak in the range of 0.50 - 1.00 μm particles. The A layer has a composition of (Ti1-xAlx)N (where the atomic ratio is 0.4 ≤ x ≤ 0.7). The B layer has a composition of Cr1-y-zAlyMz)N (where the atomic ratio is 0.03 ≤ y ≤ 0.4 and 0 ≤ z ≤ 0.05). The x-ray diffraction peak of the hard coating layer (200) plane exists at a position with a diffraction angle of 43.6 ± 0.1 degrees. The plastic deformation work ratio of the B layer is 0.35 - 0.50.
