Title: METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A WAVELENGTH CONVERSION MEMBER AND A WAVELENGTH CONVERSION MEMBER
Abstract:
To provide a method for manufacturing a wavelength conversion member in which cracks due to laser sealing do not easily occur. A method for manufacturing a wavelength conversion member 1 that is provided with a container 2 having side walls 4 in the shape of a frame, resin and phosphors which fill the inside of the container 2, and a cover member 5 disposed on top of the side walls 4 of the container 2; the side walls 4 comprising a pair of mutually opposing long sides and a pair of mutually opposing short sides; said method being provided with: a step for preparing the container 2; a step for filling the inside of the container 2 with the resin and phosphors; and a step in which the cover member 5 is disposed on the side walls 4 of the container 2 with first glass frit 8 therebetween, and the first glass frit is irradiated with a laser, and thereby melted, so as to bond the side walls 4 of the container 2 to the cover member 5; during laser irradiation, the laser is radiated and the container 2 is sealed such that the start point and end point for laser scanning are located on a short side of the side walls 4 of the container 2.
