Abstract:
This vehicle control device is provided with: an autonomous-driving control unit for performing an autonomous-driving control for autonomously controlling acceleration and/or steering of a host vehicle such that the host vehicle travels along a route to a destination; an avoidance-object detector for detecting an avoidance object, which is an object to be avoided in the vicinity of the host vehicle; and an avoidance control unit for executing an avoidance control for autonomously controlling acceleration and/or steering of the host vehicle, the avoidance control having priority over the autonomous-driving control, whereby an avoidance operation is performed when it is detected that the host vehicle has approached a prescribed range in relation to the detected avoidance object, the autonomous-driving control unit ending the autonomous-driving control when the avoidance operation has been executed.
