Abstract:
(EN) A fiber optic cable with a connector for a rugged environment, including a connector assembly, a fiber optic cable entering a back side of the connector assembly, wherein the fiber optic entering the back side of the connector assembly is sealed to the back side of the connector, a transceiver housed in the connector assembly, wherein the fiber optic cable is attached to the transceiver, a power converter packaged in the connector assembly, wherein the power converter is electrically connected to the transceiver, and an electrical connection electrically connected on a first side to an electrical signal contact in the transceiver and on a second side to a face-side electric contact of the connector assembly. Related apparatus and methods are also described.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un câble à fibre optique doté d'un connecteur pour un environnement accidenté, qui comprend un ensemble connecteur, un câble à fibre optique entrant dans un côté arrière de l'ensemble connecteur, la fibre optique qui entre dans le côté arrière de cet ensemble connecteur étant scellée au côté arrière du connecteur, un émetteur-récepteur logé dans ledit ensemble connecteur, le câble à fibre optique étant fixé à l'émetteur-récepteur, un convertisseur de puissance encapsulé dans l'ensemble connecteur, le convertisseur de puissance étant connecté électriquement à l'émetteur-récepteur, et une connexion électrique connectée électriquement sur un premier côté à un contact de signal électrique dans l'émetteur-récepteur et sur un second côté à un contact électrique côté face de l'ensemble connecteur. La présente invention se rapporte également à un appareil et à des procédés connexes.
