Abstract:
Pliers (1) comprising a head portion (200) incorporating gripping faces within the opposing jaws (201) for the clamping of the desired workpiece (70, 80), pivotal handle portions (300) and a sprung toothed (526, 604) link positioned between the handles (201, 300, 301). Bow shaped resilient portion or portions (304) are usefully incorporated within either or both the jaw (201) or handle portions (300), when the pliers (1) are operated these resilient portions (304) impart a useful superior sprung pressure upon the clamped workpiece (70, 80) by the gripping face (203) of the jaws (200, 201). The Jaws (200, 201) and bend promoting portion are contiguous with each individual handle (300, 301) and gripping portion. The jaws (200, 201) can further be usefully locked in the required clamping position upon the workpiece (70, 80) by a toothed (526, 604) sprung strut (400) pivotally attached to the fixed handle (301) and conveniently being locked or unlocked according to the locking switch (500) pivotal within the opposing moving handle (302, 310).
