Abstract:
(EN) Provided is a method of diagnosing and/or monitoring traumatic brain injury (TBI) in a subject. The method comprises determining a level of at least one miRNA in a fluid sample from the subject. The miRNA may be selected from miR-425-5p, miR-502, miR-21 and miR-335. The method may involve determining whether a subject is suffering from mild-TBI or moderate-to- severe TBI. Also provided is a sensor element, a detection system, composition and a kit for diagnosing and/or monitoring TBI, and a method of determining an appropriate treatment for a subject with a suspected TBI.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de diagnostic et/ou de surveillance d'un traumatisme crânio-cérébral (TCC) chez un sujet. Le procédé comprend la détermination d'un niveau d'au moins un miARN dans un échantillon de fluide provenant du sujet. Le miARN peut être choisi parmi miR-425-5p, miR-502, miR-21 et miR-335. Le procédé peut consister à déterminer si un sujet souffre d'un TCC léger ou d'un TCC modéré à sévère. L'invention concerne également un élément de capteur, un système de détection, une composition et un kit pour le diagnostic et/ou la surveillance d'un TCC et un procédé de détermination d'un traitement approprié pour un sujet soupçonné de souffrir d'un TCC.
