Abstract:
A device for the dephosphorization of a molten ferrous metal, said furnace comprising a refractory coating, at least one region of which, in particular a region intended to come into contact with said molten ferrous metal, consists of a material having the following average chemical composition, as weight percentages on the basis of the refractory oxides and for a total of 100%: - more than 50% of Al2O3, -more than 4% of Cr2O3, - less than 20% of MgO, - less than 5% of CaO, - less than 3% of SiO2, - less than 5% of Fe2O3, - less than 30% of ZrO2, - less than 10% of TiO2, the constituents other than Al2O3, Cr2O3, MgO, CaO, SiO2, Fe2O3, ZrO2 and TiO2 constituting the remainder to 100%, the sum of the oxides Al2O3 + Cr2O3 + Fe2O3 + ZrO2 + TiO2 representing more than 80% of said chemical composition.
