Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide a cell handover method and system, and a related device. The method comprises: a source base station unicasts RRC signaling comprising a DRX period to a UE in a connected state, the RRC signaling being used for instructing the UE to keep in the connected state according to the DRX period; and the source base station makes a handover decision according to a measurement report reported by the UE, and sends a handover request message to a target base station according to the handover decision, the handover request message being used for instructing the target base station to obtain Context of the UE from an Anchor connected to the target base station and establish an RRC connection with the UE after it is determined, according to the Context of the UE, that the UE is allowed to be handed over. The target base station does not obtain the Context of the UE by means of the signaling sent by the source base station, but obtains the Context of the UE from the Anchor where the UE Context is stored. By means of the embodiments of the present invention, the signaling load of a network can be reduced, and the handover speed of a cell can be increased.
