Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed are methods and systems involving location-based disambiguation of media channel identification, in a scenario where a fingerprint of media content being rendered by a media presentation device matches multiple reference fingerprints corresponding respectively with multiple different media channels. Upon detecting such a multi-match situation, a server or other entity will use a location of the media presentation device as a basis to disambiguate between the matching reference fingerprints and thus to determine the channel on which the media content being rendered by the media presentation device is arriving.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes impliquant une désambiguïsation géodépendante de l'identification du canal multimédia, dans un scénario où une empreinte digitale du contenu multimédia rendu par un dispositif de présentation multimédia correspond à plusieurs empreintes digitales de référence correspondant respectivement à plusieurs canaux multimédias différents. Lors de la détection d'une telle situation de correspondance multiple, un serveur ou une autre entité utilise un emplacement du dispositif de présentation multimédia comme base pour désambiguïser entre les empreintes digitales de référence correspondantes et ainsi déterminer le canal par lequel arrive le contenu multimédia rendu par le dispositif de présentation multimédia.
