Abstract:
(EN) A piston crown for a piston of a pair of pistons in a two-stroke, opposed-piston, compression ignition combustion engine has a barrier layer and a conductive layer. The barrier layer at least partially surrounds a combustion chamber formed by the piston crown and an end surface of an opposing piston. The conductive layer connects the crown to the rest of the piston body. The barrier layer and the conductive layer are joined either through welding or through the fabrication process. Optionally, the piston crown includes an insulating layer between the barrier and conductive layers.
(FR) L'invention concerne une couronne de piston destinée à un piston d'une paire de pistons d'un moteur à allumage par compression à pistons opposés, deux temps comprenant une couche barrière et une couche conductrice. La couche barrière entourant au moins partiellement une chambre de combustion formée par la couronne de piston et une surface d'extrémité d'un piston opposé. La couche conductrice reliant la couronne au reste du corps de piston. La couche barrière et la couche conductrice sont assemblées soit par soudage soit par le processus de fabrication. Éventuellement, la couronne de piston comprend une couche isolante entre la couche barrière et la couche conductrice.
