Abstract:
An electric brake device comprises: first and second direct-action mechanisms (33a, 33b) for converting the rotation of first and second rotary shafts (32a, 32b) into the linear motion of first and second piston members (26a, 26b), respectively; a differential power transmission path (35) in which rotation outputted by an electric motor (30) is distributed and transmitted such that the first and second rotary shafts (32a, 32b) rotate at speeds commensurate with the respective rotational loads thereupon; a non-differential power transmission path (36) in which rotation outputted by the electric motor (30) is distributed and transmitted such that the first and second rotary shafts (32a, 32b) rotate at the same speed; and a clutch mechanism for switching the power transmission path between the differential power transmission path (35) and the non-differential power transmission path (36).
