Abstract:
A wear detection device (1) for a conveyor belt is provided with: magnetic members (12a, 12b) embedded in an endless conveyor belt (11); a magnetic sensor (13j) installed facing the outer peripheral surface of the conveyor belt (11), the magnetic sensor (13j) detecting a magnetic field from the magnetic members (12a, 12b) and emitting an output signal; and a computation unit (141) for calculating the thickness of the conveyor belt (11) on the basis of the output signal emitted from the magnetic sensor (13j), the computation unit (141) being provided with a storage unit (142) for storing the calculated thickness, and a processing unit (143) for calculating, on the basis of the thickness stored in the storage unit (142), the amount of decrease in thickness of the conveyor belt (11) per a prescribed amount of travel load, and determining whether said value has exceeded a preset threshold value.
