Abstract:
Optical connector-attached fibers 2A, 2B respectively have optical fibers 10a, ferrules 11, guide holes, and structures that specify a gap between end surfaces 11a of the ferrules 11. The relative positions of the end surfaces 11a are fixed by means of guide pins inserted into the guide holes. A normal line of an leading end surface of each of the optical fibers is tilted with respect to the optical axis of each of the optical fibers. The mode field diameter (MFD) of the optical fibers gradually increases toward the leading end surfaces, and becomes maximum at the leading end surfaces. The optical axes of the pair of optically coupled optical fibers facing each other are not on a same optical axis.
