Title: SENSOR DEVICE FOR CONTAINERS OF LIQUID SUBSTANCES
Abstract:
An optical sensor device for detection of at least one characteristic of a liquid substance comprises a device body (10a) having an inner surface and an outer surface, at least one portion of the outer surface of the device body (10a) being designed to be in contact with the liquid substance, and the inner surface of the device body (10a) being designed to be isolated from the liquid substance. Associated to the device body (10a) is at least one detection arrangement (15, 40), which comprises at least one emitter (42) and at least one receiver (44a, 44b) of a given optical radiation, such as a radiation in the visible or in the infrared. At least one first portion (31) of the device body (10a) is made of a material designed for propagation of the given optical radiation, the at least one emitter (42) and the at least one receiver (44a, 44b) being optically coupled to the inner surface of the device body (10a) in said first portion (31). The aforesaid first portion (31) of the device body (10a) is shaped to contribute to propagation of the given optical radiation, in particular by refraction and/or reflection, from the at least one emitter (42) to the at least one receiver (44a, 44b), in such a way that the given optical radiation is at least in part propagated through said first portion (31) of the device body (10a) towards the at least one receiver (44a, 44b), in particular at an angle and/or with an intensity that are/is variable as a function of a characteristic of the liquid substance. The detection arrangement (15, 40) comprises an optical module (40), which includes a structure for support and electrical connection of the at least one emitter (42) and of the at least one receiver (44a, 44b), which is configured as a part separate from the device body (10a). The supporting and electrical-connection structure includes a plurality of bodies (45, 46, 47) made of electrically insulating material overmoulded on electrical-connection elements (48, 49) made of electrically conductive material.
