Title: METHOD FOR GENERATING A MAGNETIC FIELD AND MAGNETIC FIELD GENERATOR
Abstract:
The invention relates to a magnetic field generator (10) comprising a fixed stator and a rotor coaxially mounted inside the fixed stator. The generator is designed as a compact block (11) having a generally cylindrical shape clamped between two end plates (12 and 13) having a substantially circular shape. The generator (10) is provided with longitudinal grooves or air gaps (14) at its periphery, for example four air gaps which cut into the peripheral surface of the block (11) and of the two end plates (12 and 13), forming surface receptacles designed for containing bars of magnetocaloric material. The stator comprises magnets arranged so as to produce a magnetic induction having a constant value (B0), and the rotor comprises magnets arranged so as to produce a magnetic induction having the value (B1). The magnetic field generated by this rotor has alternatingly a determined polarity through the half of the cycle and a reverse polarity through the other half of the cycle.
