Abstract:
(EN) There is provided a method of operating an internal combustion engine, including: combusting primary fuel and primary air in a combustion chamber to produce combustion products; exhausting the combustion products to an exhaust system for exhausting the combustion products to atmosphere; and introducing into the exhaust system secondary air and mechanically acting upon the secondary air and the combustion products in the exhaust system in the presence of a catalyst to produce an oxidising agent.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de fonctionnement d'un moteur à combustion interne, comprenant : la combustion de combustible primaire et d'air primaire dans une chambre de combustion afin de produire des produits de combustion; l'évacuation des produits de combustion vers un système d'échappement pour évacuer les produits de combustion vers l'atmosphère; et l'introduction, dans le système d'échappement, d'air secondaire et l'action mécanique sur l'air secondaire et les produits de combustion dans le système d'échappement en présence d'un catalyseur afin de produire un agent oxydant.
