Abstract:
The invention relates to a vehicle body, comprising an inner body structure (1) and an outer body skin (2), wherein the body structure (1) has, in the region of a vehicle front end (10), a left supporting carrier (12) and a right supporting carrier and a left suspension strut cup (14) and a right suspension strut cup for accommodating respective suspension struts belonging to the chassis of the vehicle, wherein each suspension strut cup (14) lies on the side of the associated supporting carrier (12) facing the longitudinal center plane (XZ) of the vehicle and wherein the body skin (2) has, in the region of the vehicle front end (10), a left front body side part (20), a right front body side part, and a front hood (22) arranged between said front body side parts, characterized in that the left front body side part (20) covers the left suspension strut cup (14), that the right front body side part covers the right suspension strut cup, that a left front body skin supporting element (16) is attached to the left supporting carrier (12), which left front body skin supporting element supports the left front body side part (20) above the top side (14') of the left suspension strut cup (14) and determines a vertical distance between the suspension strut cup (14) and the left front body side part (20), by means of which distance the top side (14') of the left suspension strut cup (14) remains accessible, and that a right front body skin supporting element is attached to the right supporting carrier, which right front body skin supporting element supports the right front body side part above the top side of the right suspension strut cup and determines a vertical distance between the suspension strut cup and the left front body side part, by means of which distance the top side of the right suspension strut cup remains accessible.
