(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé qui consiste à : déterminer une pluralité de valeurs d'échelle d'énergie de bande pour une paire de signaux audio ; transformer les valeurs d'échelle d'énergie de bande à l'aide d'une transformée en cosinus discrète pour produire une pluralité de valeurs de coefficient ; et sélectionner un sous-ensemble de la pluralité de valeurs de coefficient pour produire une représentation d'une différence de niveau entre la paire de signaux audio.
