Abstract:
A system for adjusting a depth of field of a multi-depth display and a method thereof. The system comprises at least one fixed micro projector (1), and at least one adjustable micro projector (2). The fixed micro projector (1) and the adjustable micro projector (2) both can respectively project 2-dimensional images to at least one reflecting mirror (3). A virtual image is formed at intersection of rays reflected by the reflecting mirror (3) and extending along an opposite direction of the rays. By controlling a distance between the adjustable micro projector (2) and the fixed micro projector (1), or adjusting an angle or image output location of an optical path of the adjustable micro projector (2), or configuring the adjustable micro projector (2) and the fixed micro projector (1) to respectively project to different reflecting mirrors (3), multiple overlapping focused images can be added and formed, forming an optical focus when viewing using monocular vision. When being applied to binocular vision, the virtual images viewed by two eyes are combined to provide the effect of the 3D depth of field, achieving the goal of displaying an image using multiple depths of field.
