The cutting insert of an embodiment is provided with a base that has a first surface, second surfaces, and cutting edges. The base comprises hard phases and binding phases, and the hard phases comprise first hard phases and second hard phases. In X-ray diffraction analysis, the peak of the first hard phases is seen on the high angle side of the peak of the second hard phases. The second hard phases in the second surfaces have a compressive residual stress of at least 150 MPa. The maximum height (Rz) in the second surfaces is 0.2-1.5 µm. The maximum height of the cutting edges is 2-30 times the maximum height in the second surfaces.

Selon la présente invention, l'insert de coupe d'un mode de réalisation comporte une base qui a une première surface, des secondes surfaces et des bords de coupe. La base comprend des phases dures et des phases de liaison, et les phases dures comprennent des premières phases dures et des secondes phases dures. Dans une analyse par diffraction à rayons X, le pic des premières phases dures est vu sur le côté de grand angle du pic des secondes phases dures. Les secondes phases dures dans les secondes surfaces ont une contrainte résiduelle de compression d'au moins 150 MPa. La hauteur maximale (Rz) dans les secondes surfaces est de 0,2 à 1,5 µm.
