The present invention relates to an isolated polypeptide having beta-lactamase activity and nucleic acid sequences encoding the polypeptide. The isolated polypeptide of the invention is a VIM-2 variant with improved properties such as improved protease stability, stability in intestinal medium, improved activity against one or more antibiotics, improved specific activity and/or improved production in a host cell.

La présente invention concerne un polypeptide isolé ayant une activité bêta-lactamase et des séquences d'acide nucléique codant le polypeptide. Le polypeptide isolé selon l'invention est une variante de VIM-2 ayant des propriétés améliorées, par exemple une plus grande stabilité de la protéase, une stabilité en milieu intestinal, une plus grande activité vis-à-vis d'un ou de plusieurs antibiotiques, une plus grande activité spécifique et/ou une production plus importante dans une cellule hôte.
